CCA, Manila: Bolder at 20! PH’s top culinary school celebrates milestones, unveils future directions

In celebration of its 20th founding anniversary this November, the country’s first and leading professional culinary education institution, the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA, Manila), proudly marks its milestone with a string of activities that highlight its unique positioning and future initiatives for the academe and the industry.

With the theme “Sustainability, Innovation and Filipino Cuisine to the World”, CCA, Manila has lined up four major events. Kicking off the celebrations is the “CCA Anniversary Gala Dinner” happening Nov. 21 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel. The affair presents a collaboration dinner between CCA Culinary Director Chef Sau del Rosario, Michelin-starred French Master Chef Christian Tetedoie, Disciples Escoffier International Chairman Robert Fontana, and EDSA Shangri-La’s Executive Chef Scott Brands. Also present in the occasion are the alumni who brought home the gold from international culinary competitions.

This is followed by a one-day international business conference entitled “The Future of Food: Business Directions for Hospitality & Culinary Leaders” slated Nov. 23 at the UP Auditorium in Bonifacio Global City. Featuring panel discussions with leading foreign and local thought-leaders as speakers and panelists, the event showcases a powerhouse cast of food authorities and culinary experts as they talk about the most pressing issues facing us today and in the near future.

In recognition of all the outstanding graduates who have faithfully committed themselves as  the school’s “ambassadors” of culinary excellence and innovation, a “CCA Grand Alumni Homecoming” is also set on Nov. 23, 7 p.m. at the UP BGC. The affair, a perfect venue to re-connect with CCA friends, former classmates, and chef instructors, is also a fund-raising event that will benefit the scholars of the Culinary Education Foundation (CEF), the CSR arm of The Cravings Group.

Capping off the grand celebration is the “Clash of Clash 2016” on Nov. 25 at the CCA Katipunan Campus. Now on its 4th year, the much awaited Clash of Clans returns with fiercer competitors, stronger team spirit and brilliant judges. Apart from the fiery cook-off among “houses”, a conference on food and beverage and hospitality trends and developments featuring expert resource speakers,  guest students, and faculty from other schools is also scheduled.

CCA, Manila continues to inspire and gain recognition for its passionate commitment to provide top-notch professional academic training to aspiring Filipino chefs and food entrepreneurs.  By delivering industry-recognized programs accredited by the prestigious American Culinary Foundation, CCA, Manila vows to trail blaze the way towards global excellence — upholding its pride and legacy as the country’s foremost training ground for top-caliber culinary professionals and, ultimately, as Asia’s new hub for world-class chefs through innovative teaching and learning thrusts.
